How Planned Pethood Can Help You and Your Pet
A "how to" guide

What is Planned Pethood?
Planned Pethood is a joint program of FlagPAL and the Coconino Humane Association. It is designed to encourage and help pet owners in the Flagstaff area to spay or neuter their pets. In addition to offering financial assistance with spay and neuter surgery, the program includes the distribution of the information packet which you are reading now.

How can I get a copy of your information packet?
Just leave your name and address on our message line, at (928) 526-3415.

I have read your information packet. How can I get help having my pet spayed or neutered?
See the Instruction Sheet included in this packet.

What financial help can I get from Planned Pethood?
Planned Pethood will pay 25% of the cost of the spay or neuter
surgery, which might total anywhere from approximately $30 (male cat) to over $150 (large female dog), necessary blood tests, and surcharges for animals which are pregnant or in heat. For your pet’s safety, if your pet is not current on innoculations against common dog and cat diseases, the veterinarian will probably require you to take care of that at the time of surgery (up to $35). Sorry, Planned Pethood is unable to help with the cost of shots or other expenses not directly related to the spay/neuter surgery.

Must I use a particular veterinarian? What if I live outside Flagstaff?
Planned Pethood will issue certificates for spay/neuter surgeries performed by any Flagstaff-based veterinarian. This includes Flagstaff veterinarians serving Williams, Grand Canyon, etc., and the Plateauland Mobile Clinic when it’s in the Flagstaff area.

What if I got my dog or cat at the Coconino Humane Association?
The Planned Pethood program does not apply if you have adopted your pet from the Coconino Humane Association because the CHA has its own spay/neuter program. For information about the Humane Association spay/neuter program, call 526-1076.

Remember - millions of dogs and cats are suffering and dying because nobody wants them. Please! Spay or neuter your pet. Your pet and your community will thank you.
